Singapore's Prime Minister traveled to India to celebrate 60 years of diplomatic relations, where both nations established a progressive roadmap for their Comprehensive Strategic Partnership (CSP) in eight important sectors
What it entails?
The Comprehensive Strategic Partnership (CSP) represents the pinnacle of bilateral relations between India and Singapore.
It was upgraded from a Strategic Partnership in 2015 and further strengthened in 2025 with a new plan.
Main Agreements (2025 Plan):
Economic Collaboration → assess CECA & AITIGA, enhance semiconductor industry, strengthen capital markets, engage in space partnership.
Skills Enhancement → National Center of Excellence in Chennai for advanced manufacturing and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET).
Digitalization → Expansion of UPI-PayNow, fintech innovations, cybersecurity advancements, AI applications in healthcare/agriculture.
Sustainability → eco-friendly hydrogen, nuclear energy initiatives, climate action efforts, food safety.
Connectivity → maritime and aviation connections, Green and Digital Shipping Corridor, eco-friendly aviation fuel.
Healthcare & Medicine → digital health, medical technology R&D, nursing competencies, illness monitoring.
Individuals-to-Individuals → exchanges for students/professionals, cultural interactions, cooperation in parliament and public service.
Defence & Security → collaborative drills, naval safety, anti-terrorism efforts, defence technology partnership.
