Hailing the move, PM Modi reaffirmed India’s leadership in wildlife conservation and commitment to a sustainable planet.

India’s commitment to wildlife conservation got stronger recently with the addition of its 58th tiger reserve in Madhya Pradesh’s Shivpuri district. This marks the state’s ninth such reserve, reinforcing its reputation as the "Tiger State of India."
Prime Minister Narendra Modi hailed the milestone, calling it “amazing news for wildlife lovers” and reaffirming that India remains at the forefront of animal protection.

“India is blessed with wildlife diversity and a culture that celebrates wildlife. We will always be at the forefront of protecting animals and contributing to a sustainable planet," Modi posted on X.
Union Minister for Environment, Forest, and Climate Change Bhupender Yadav took to X to share the announcement. “58th roar and counting! With historic emphasis on restoring ecological diversity, India continues to make great strides in environmental protection and wildlife conservation,” he wrote.
Madhav Tiger Reserve is the 9th such reserve in the state.
Yadav praised the tireless work of forest officials and conservationists, crediting their efforts for this achievement. “The development is a testament to the relentless dedication of those working selflessly to protect our wildlife,” he added.
With this latest addition, Madhya Pradesh further solidifies its status as a stronghold for big cats, playing a crucial role in India’s ongoing efforts to preserve its rich biodiversity.
