Police arrested a man for allegedly installing spy cameras secretly in the bedroom and bathroom of a female UPSC aspirant in Delhi’s Shakarpur area.
The accused Karan, son of the landlord, where the woman lived as a tenant has been arrested. He was taken into custody after the woman discovered the hidden devices and lodged a complaint with the police.

The woman, who is preparing for the Union Service Public Commission (UPSC) examination became suspicious after noticing unusual activity on her WhatsApp account.
When she checked her linked devices, she found that an unknown laptop had accessed her account. This led her to search her apartment leading to the discovery of a spy camera inside the bulb holder of her bathroom.
She immediately called the police to investigate the matter. During the search, police found another spy camera hidden in the bulb holder of her bedroom. The woman revealed that she often trusted her landlord's son with her house keys when she was away.
During interrogation, the landlord's son admitted to installing the cameras three months ago while the woman had gone to her hometown in Uttar Pradesh. He would often request the house keys under the pretense of repairing electrical fixtures, to retrieve the footage stored in the memory cards of the offline cameras, the UPSC aspirant said.
The police seized one spy camera and two laptops containing recorded videos from Karan’s possession. An FIR has been registered against the accused under relevant sections of law.
