The upcoming Monsoon Session of Parliament will see the introduction of six new bills, including an update to the disaster management legislation.

Next week, as the Monsoon Session of Parliament kicks off, six new legislative proposals are poised to be introduced.
Among these, a significant bill aims to revise the Disaster Management Act.

Additionally, the government plans to present the Bhartiya Vayuyan Vidheyak, 2024, which seeks to overhaul the Aircraft Act of 1934, aiming to streamline and enhance business operations within the civil aviation sector.
The comprehensive list of upcoming bills was released in the Parliament bulletin by the Lok Sabha secretariat on July 18 evening.
The session is slated to commence on July 22 and will run until August 12.
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will unveil the Union Budget on July 23, the first Tuesday of the session.
Other proposed legislation includes The Boilers Bill, which seeks to replace outdated pre-independence regulations, as well as The Coffee (Promotion and Development) Bill and The Rubber (Promotion and Development) Bill.
Here’s a detailed list of the six bills scheduled for introduction:
- The Finance (No.2) Bill, 2024
- The Disaster Management (Amendment) Bill, 2024
- The Boilers Bill, 2024
- The Bhartiya Vayuyan Vidheyak, 2024
- The Coffee (Promotion and Development) Bill, 2024
- The Rubber (Promotion and Development) Bill, 2024
In addition, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla has constituted the Business Advisory Committee (BAC), responsible for setting the parliamentary agenda.
The committee, chaired by the Speaker, includes members Sudip Bandyopadhyay (TMC), P P Chaudhary (BJP), Lavu Sri Krishna Devarayalu (TDP), Nishikant Dubey (BJP), Gaurav Gogoi (Congress), Sanjay Jaiswal (BJP), Dileshwar Kamait (JD-U), Bhartruhari Mahtab (BJP), Dayanidhi Maran (DMK), Baijayant Panda (BJP), Arvind Sawant (Shiv Sena-UBT), Kodikunnil Suresh (Congress), Anurag Thakur (BJP), and Lalji Verma (SP).
