Joint forces strike in Keran sector after intelligence warns of fresh infiltration attempt.

Security forces on November 8 neutralized two terrorists in an ongoing anti-infiltration operation along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
The encounter erupted in the Keran sector after troops picked up specific intelligence inputs indicating that a heavily armed group was attempting to slip into the Valley.

Officials said the joint operation was launched on November 7, when alert troops deployed along the LoC detected suspicious movement in the rugged Keran terrain. When challenged, the infiltrators opened indiscriminate fire, triggering a swift and calibrated retaliation by the forces.
In a post on X, the Chinar Corps confirmed the development: “Operation PIMPLE, Keran, Kupwara: On 07 Nov 2025, based on specific intelligence input from agencies regarding an infiltration attempt, a joint operation was launched. Alert troops spotted suspicious activity, challenged, and were met with indiscriminate fire. Contact was established and terrorists trapped.” The Corps added that two terrorists had been neutralised as part of the continuing operation.
Search efforts are still underway to sanitize the area and rule out the presence of additional infiltrators.
This confrontation follows a similar infiltration bid foiled on October 14, when two terrorists were killed by the Army along the LoC in Kupwara. The district, along with Baramulla and Bandipora, forms a key stretch of the 740-kilometre LoC, making it one of the most sensitive infiltration corridors in Jammu and Kashmir.
