Group banned in India releases poster targeting envoy, calls for 12-hour blockade in Vancouver.

In a fresh escalation of threats against Indian missions abroad, the banned Khalistani outfit Sikhs For Justice (SFJ) has announced a “siege” of the Indian consulate in Vancouver on September 18. The group has urged Indian-Canadians to avoid visiting the mission on September 18, warning of “safety risks.”
In a notice released on September 17, SFJ accused Indian consulates in Canada of running an “espionage network” to monitor Khalistan supporters and disrupt their referendum campaigns. The group invoked Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s 2023 statement in Parliament alleging Indian involvement in the killing of Khalistani separatist Hardeep Singh Nijjar, claiming “two years on, Indian consulates continue to run spy operations.”

The outfit also released a provocative poster depicting Indian High Commissioner Dinesh Patnaik with a target mark on his face, captioned as the “new face of India’s Hindutva terror in Canada.”
The call for action describes a “12-hour siege” — from 8 am to 8 pm local time — with SFJ declaring that “pro-Khalistan Sikhs, torchbearers of Shaheed Nijjar, will lay a historic siege of the consulate to demand accountability for Indian state-directed espionage and intimidation on Canadian soil.”
The group further alleged that the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) had extended “witness protection” to Khalistani leader Inderjeet Gosal following “major pressure by Indian spies.”
