In a sharp escalation of hostilities, the United States has carried out airstrikes on three of Iran’s key nuclear facilities—Isfahan, Natanz, and Fordow—prompting Tehran to confirm no radiation leaks but vowing retaliation.
The strikes, conducted amid soaring regional tensions, were reportedly ordered by former President Donald Trump and mark a significant flashpoint in the Iran-Israel-US standoff.

According to Washington, the strikes were carried out using B‑2 stealth bombers dropping GBU‑57A/B bunker‑buster bombs, along with 30 Tomahawk missiles launched from submarines targeting underground and surface structures.
Iranian officials, including the National Nuclear Safety System Center, reported no radiation or radioactive leaks from the strikes.
Top state media figures stated that personnel had been evacuated beforehand, and that harmful nuclear material was absent at the sites.
However, Iran’s state-run broadcaster condemned the attack as an illegal violation of its sovereignty and warned that “every US citizen or military personnel in the Middle East” would now be considered a legitimate target.
A close adviser to Iran’s Supreme Leader called for missile strikes on U.S. naval fleets and proposed closing the Strait of Hormuz in retaliation.
Immediate consequences included retaliatory Iranian missile launches targeting Israeli cities, a temporary closure of Israeli airspace, and evacuation flights for U.S. citizens from Israel, escalating fears of regional conflict.
