US President threatens ‘powerful tariffs’ on Moscow, blasts NATO for energy dependence.

In a fiery address to world leaders at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) on September 23, US President Donald Trump accused India and China of being “the main funders” of Russia’s war in Ukraine, pointing to their continued purchases of Russian oil. He also rebuked NATO allies for failing to wean themselves off Moscow’s energy supplies.
“China and India are the primary funders of the ongoing war by continuing to purchase Russian oil,” Trump declared. “Inexcusably, even NATO countries have not cut off Russian energy. They’re funding the war against themselves. Who the hell ever heard of that one?”

Warning that Washington would act unilaterally if Moscow resists a peace deal, Trump said the US was “fully prepared to impose a very strong round of powerful tariffs, which would stop the bloodshed very quickly.” He urged European nations to join in, saying joint action was critical to choking off Russia’s war chest.
Turning to domestic achievements, Trump painted America as “the hottest country” in the world, boasting of the “largest tax cuts in US history,” a booming stock market, and rising wages. On border security, he claimed: “For the last four months, the number of illegal aliens entering our country has been zero. Our message is very simple: if you come illegally to the US, you are going to jail.”
The US President went on to claim credit for resolving seven global conflicts since his return to office — including disputes between Israel and Iran, Pakistan and India, and Armenia and Azerbaijan. “No other president has ever done anything close to that,” he said.
Trump also delivered a scathing critique of the United Nations itself, arguing the institution was “not living up to its potential.” He derided its response to wars as little more than “empty words” and recalled his own failed bid years earlier to remodel the UN headquarters in New York.
