In the face of deteriorating air quality in the nation's capital, Delhi University has decided to switch to online classes until Nov 23 and Jawaharlal Nehru University until Nov 22.
The Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) advised Delhi and NCR governments to consider enabling public, municipal, and private offices to operate at 50% capacity, with the rest working from home. The central government may also allow its employees to work remotely. Until further notice, all schools will continue classes online.

The System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting and Research (SAFAR) predicts that 'severe' air quality will persist on Nov 14, with 'very poor' air quality expected to prevail from Nov 15 to 16.

Short-lived climate pollutants (SLCPs) are a group of greenhouse gases and air pollutants that have a near-term warming impact on climate and can affect air quality. SLCPs include black carbon, methane, ground-level ozone, and hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs).
While the air quality index (AQI) in Gurugram, Noida, and Ghaziabad was in the "poor" category, Delhi's AQI was in the "severe" category, surpassing the 400 mark. The AQI in Faridabad was in the "moderate" range at 188.
