To address the capital's electronic waste and advance the circular economy, Delhi has announced the opening of India's first E-Waste Recycling Eco Park in Holambi Kalan

What is the E-Waste Eco Park?
A dedicated facility in Delhi for the scientific recycling, disassembly, and recovery of electronic waste is called the E-Waste Eco Park.

It is intended to support India's transition to a circular economy and act as a model for managing e-waste sustainably.
The Environment Minister of Delhi made the announcement.
Location: North Delhi's Holambi Kalan.
Operating Model: Predicated on the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) DBFOT (Design, Build, Finance, Operate, Transfer) model.
The Delhi State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (DSIIDC) will issue a global tender.
15 years is the concession period.
E-Waste Eco Park's salient features include:
Infrastructure for Integrated Recycling: The park, which spans 11.4 acres, will have facilities for recycling, dismantling, collection, and renovation. With scientific metal recovery, it aims to process 51,000 metric tonnes of e-waste per year.
Comprehensive Waste Coverage: In accordance with the E-Waste Management Rules, 2022, it will handle all 106 types of e-waste, ranging from laptops and phones to solar and industrial equipment.
Green Investment Model Based on PPP: to be constructed with a 15-year concession under a DBFOT model through a public-private partnership. DSIIDC will use RFQ-RFP to invite international green tech companies.
Boost to the Economy and Employment: Thousands of green jobs will be created with an investment of ₹150 crore and a revenue target of ₹350 crore. Informal workers will be upskilled by training facilities.
