Visit by Narendra Modi results in 17 agreements across defence, technology, agriculture, and cybersecurity, marking a new phase in bilateral cooperation

India and Israel have elevated their bilateral relations to a “Special Strategic Partnership,” signalling a major step forward in cooperation across key strategic sectors. The announcement was made during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s official visit, where both countries reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening long-term collaboration.
A total of 17 agreements were signed, covering critical areas such as artificial intelligence, agricultural innovation, cybersecurity, defence technology, and scientific research. These agreements aim to enhance technological exchange, promote joint research, and strengthen defence preparedness in an evolving global security environment.

The partnership reflects growing convergence between the two nations in areas of national security, innovation, and economic development. Israel’s expertise in advanced technologies and defence systems complements India’s expanding technological and industrial capabilities.
This development strengthens India’s geopolitical position, particularly in the West Asian region, while enhancing its technological and defence capacity. The partnership also supports India’s broader foreign policy objectives, including technological self-reliance, innovation-driven growth, and stronger strategic alliances with key global partners.
