Operation Gang Bust Cracks Down on Criminal Networks Across States

Law enforcement agencies from Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh and Rajasthan conducted a coordinated operation titled “Operation Gang Bust 2026”, resulting in the arrest of 854 individuals, including around 280 identified gangsters. The operation involved simultaneous raids, intelligence-led searches and surveillance-based arrests across multiple districts. Police also seized illegal firearms, ammunition, narcotics, vehicles and cash, disrupting several organised crime syndicates.

The operation focused on gangs involved in extortion, contract killings, arms trafficking, drug trade and interstate criminal networks. Intelligence sharing among state police forces and central agencies played a key role in identifying targets and executing the crackdown.
