Research, Innovation, and Development; Promotion and Market Development; Export Promotion; and Education, Training, and Skill Development are the four main pillars of the National Technical Textiles Mission (NTTM).

Technical textiles are goods and materials created mainly for their functional qualities and technical performance, not for their visual appeal. According to the infographic, these products are divided into twelve different groups.

Other Important Projects under the NTTM Grant for Technical Textile Internship Support (GIST 2.0): The goal of this program is to link academia and industry. Grant for Research and Entrepreneurship for Future Technical Textile Innovators (GREAT) Plan: This program offers funds to assist in turning prototypes into technologies and goods that are ready for the market.
