Trends and Rankings (2025):
Leading performers: Iceland (1st), then Ireland, New Zealand, Finland, Austria, Switzerland, Singapore, Portugal, Denmark, Slovenia.
Least tranquil: Russia, Ukraine, Sudan, DR Congo, Yemen.
Europe leads the top 10 rankings.
South America demonstrated progress (Argentina, Peru).
Sub-Saharan Africa and the Middle East continue to be the most unpeaceful regions.
The global average of peacefulness decreased because of internal conflicts, increased militarisation, and geopolitical rifts.
India and GPI 2025:
India placed 115th with a score of 2.229, showing a progress of 0.58% compared to the previous year.
Reasons for enhancement: gradual reduction in domestic violence and conflicts, increased social stability.
Challenges: significant militarization, border conflicts, and occasional domestic disturbances.
