KIET Deemed to be University Inaugurates 6th Edition of IEAW 2026 Amid International Enthusiasm

Distinguished global dignitaries and 450+ students participate in a vibrant celebration of academic mobility and global partnerships.

KIET Deemed to be University inaugurated the 6th edition of its flagship programme, International Education Awareness Week (IEAW) 2026, with great enthusiasm and international fervour at its campus on 18th February 2026. The ceremony witnessed the gracious presence of distinguished dignitaries, international delegates, and academic leaders, marking the beginning of a three-day celebration dedicated to global academic exposure and international collaborations. Nearly 450+ students from various programmes including B.Tech, B.Pharm, M.Pharm, MBA, and MCA participated in the inaugural ceremony, reflecting the growing interest and enthusiasm among students for international education opportunities.

The inaugural ceremony commenced with traditional lamp lighting in the esteemed presence of Dr. Manoj Goel (Executive Director), Dr. Adesh Pandey (Director Academics), Chief Guest, Dr. Guillaume Carpentier (Director of International, Builders Ecole d' Ingenieurs, France) along with the distinguished Guests of Honour Metsing Ediel Lemphane, Minister Counsellor, High Commission of the Kingdom of Lesotho in India, Dr. Rishi Mohan Bhatnagar (Chairman, Futred Innovation Studios), Dr. Anshuman Singh (Chairman, International Business Startup and Entrepreneurs Association - IBSEA); Sandhya Nair (Head – Sales and Operations (Delhi-NCR-UP West), IDP Education India Pvt. Ltd.), Principal – Defense Public School, and teachers from GD Goenka Public School, Ghaziabad.

Welcoming the audience, Dr. Preeti Chitkara, Head – PR & International Relations, shared the vision behind the initiative. “International Education Awareness Week is designed to open global pathways for our students. Over the next three days, they will engage with international universities, explore higher education opportunities abroad, and gain insights into scholarships, mobility programmes, and cross-cultural learning experiences,” she said.

In his keynote, Chief Guest Dr. Guillaume Carpentier underscored the value of academic mobility and institutional partnerships. “Global collaboration is the cornerstone of modern education. Platforms like IEAW foster meaningful connections between institutions and students, enabling them to thrive in an increasingly interconnected world,” he stated.

Guest of Honour Metsing Ediel Lemphane also addressed the gathering, highlighting the importance of global academic partnerships and cross-cultural engagement.

The ceremony featured contemporary fusion dance and a Cultural Bonanza celebrating foreign languages and global cultures. A special highlight of the ceremony was the felicitation of Geetika Tetoria, a distinguished KIET alumna. In her address, she expressed gratitude to the Department of PR & International Relations for guiding her journey towards global education. “The support and mentorship I received from the PR & IR department helped me explore higher education opportunities in the USA. Today, as an Area Manager at Amazon, UK, I feel proud to return to my alma mater and inspire students to dream globally,” she shared.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Manoj Goel lauded the organising team and emphasised the importance of such global initiatives. “I congratulate the team of PR & International Relations for meticulously executing this programme. Initiatives like IEAW strengthen our global outreach and empower students with international exposure and opportunities,” he remarked.

The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks, by Dr. Madhu Gautam, Assistant Head – International Relations. Throughout the 3-day event, International Education Awareness Week 2026 will feature interactive sessions by representatives from international universities and organisations, culminating in an International Education Fair that will provide students with direct exposure to global higher education opportunities.
