SRM Launches Subhiksha Health Card as a movement for universal, compassionate, and equitable healthcare—ensuring dignity, access, and care for all without barriers.

In a landmark move toward inclusive healthcare, SRM Medical College Hospital and Research Centre (SRMMCHRC) unveiled the Subhiksha Health Card – Health for All (அனைவருக்கும் ஆரோக்கியம்) on the occasion of Sevai Thirunal, commemorating the birth anniversary of Founder Chancellor Dr. T. R. Paarivendhar.
As the largest healthcare welfare initiative of 2025, the Subhiksha Health Card promises to transform access to medical services for 1 lakh individuals in its first phase, regardless of income, geography, or background.

“Healthcare is more than curing illness. Science may save lives, but compassion is what makes those lives meaningful,” said Dr. P. Satyanarayanan, President, SRM Groups. “The Subhiksha Health Card is our way of ensuring that care is delivered with both excellence and empathy.”
With a robust infrastructure of 400+ doctors, 1,600+ beds, 30+ specialties, and 3,000+ patients treated daily, SRM continues to be a beacon of trust in healthcare. The Subhiksha initiative builds on this legacy, ensuring equitable access to world- class services.
“This card is not just a benefit, it’s a promise,” said Dr. Nitin M. Nagarkar, Pro Vice- Chancellor (MHS). “A promise that no one will be left behind.”
A standout feature of the initiative is its focus on maternal care. Under the Tmt. Valliammai Women and Child Welfare Scheme (தோய் வீட்டுச் சீதைம்), pregnant mothers will receive completely free maternity care and a ₹20,000 support package, reaffirming SRM’s commitment to gender equity in healthcare.
“From 24x7 emergency services to organ transplants and rural health camps, the Subhiksha Health Card is a declaration that healthcare is a right, not a privilege,” emphasized Dr. R. Venkataraman, Medical Superintendent, SRMMCHRC.
This initiative, launched under the theme Health for All (அனைவருக்கும் ஆரோக்கியம்), is more than a welfare scheme, it’s a movement. A movement to dismantle barriers, restore dignity, and build a future where compassion and care are universal.
