The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced the postponement of the University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC-NET) December 2024 exam initially scheduled for Jan 15.
This decision follows multiple requests from candidates, citing the clash with Pongal, Makar Sankranti, and other festivals on that date. The revised date for the exam will be announced later, as stated by the NTA.
UGC NET, an essential examination for awarding Junior Research Fellowships and appointing Assistant Professors, as well as for Ph.D. admissions, encompasses 85 subjects in its December 2024 cycle.
The test commenced on Jan 3 and was planned to run until Jan 16. Despite the postponement of the Jan 15 exam, NTA confirmed that the exams on Jan 16 will proceed as scheduled.
The ongoing exams are being conducted online in two sessions each day: the first session from 9 AM to 12 PM and the second session from 3 PM to 6 PM.
Candidates are advised to stay updated by visiting the official websites, nta.ac.in and ugcnet.nta.ac.in, for the latest information on the UGC NET December 2024 exam.
