A total of 1,355,293 candidates registered for Session 1, including applicants from centers outside India. Of them, 1,304,653 appeared, recording an attendance of 96.26%.

Twelve candidates secured a perfect 100 NTA score in Paper 1 for BE and BTech. Ashi Grewal from Haryana emerged as the highest-scoring female candidate with an NTA score of 99.9969766.

Rajasthan had three candidates among the top scorers, followed by Andhra Pradesh with two and Delhi with one.

The January exam was conducted from Jan 21 to Jan 29. The final answer key, released earlier in the day, dropped nine questions across papers.

Percentile scores were calculated using NTA’s normalization process to ensure parity across multiple shifts.

In cases of tied percentile scores, higher percentile in Mathematics is given preference, followed by Physics and Chemistry. If the tie continues, the older candidate is ranked higher.

Candidates meeting the eligibility criteria will qualify for JEE Advanced 2026. Others can seek admission to NITs, IIITs, and other participating institutes based on ranks and cutoffs. The official cutoff will be announced after Session 2 in April.

Registration for JEE Main 2026 Session 2 is underway and will remain open until Feb 25. Candidates seeking improvement can appear again using the same login credentials.
