Shah Rukh Khan’s Mumbai residence, Mannat, is set for renovations this summer, but the plan faces a setback.
An activist has raised concerns over potential violations, prompting the National Green Tribunal to intervene.

In an appeal to the NGT, social activist Santosh Daundkar accused Khan and the Maharashtra Coastal Zone Management Authority (MCZMA) of failing to obtain the Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ) clearance required for Mannat renovations.
Since the bungalow is a Grade III heritage building, all structural alterations must be approved by the appropriate authorities.
Khan intends to add two more floors to the six-story home, according to the report.
Khan allegedly committed fraud by combining "12 number of 1-BHK flats for mass housing" into a single-family home, according to the appeal.
Daundkar has now been ordered by the NGT to provide evidence to support the claims.
"If any violation of the above procedure has been committed by the project proponent or the MCZMA, the same may be submitted by the appellant specifically along with the evidence in support of that, within four weeks, failing which we would be left with no option but to dismiss the present appeal for non-compliance with the order of this tribunal, at the stage of admission itself," a coram of Judicial Member Dinesh Kumar Singh and Expert Member Vijay Kulkarni said.
The NGT is scheduled to hear the case again on April 23.
