Kannada star’s request to shift from Parappana Agrahara jail rejected amid ongoing Renukaswamy murder case.

Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa, embroiled in the high-profile Renukaswamy murder case, made a dramatic appeal to a Bengaluru court on September 9, expressing despair over his confinement.
Appearing via video conference before the 57th CCH court, Darshan reportedly broke down, saying, “I don’t want anything for anyone, please give me poison… It has been nearly a month that I have seen sunlight. My hands are getting a fungal infection… Life here has become unbearable.”

The court, however, admonished him, stating, “You cannot say such things,” after which the actor fell silent.
Darshan had sought a transfer from Parappana Agrahara Central Prison to Ballari jail. The court denied the request but granted minor relief, allowing limited movement within the prison and providing additional bedding in line with prison regulations. Officials noted that there was no violation of rules, supporting continued custody at the Bengaluru facility.
Darshan was arrested on June 11 last year alongside Pavithra Gowda and 15 others in connection with Renukaswamy’s murder. He spent 131 days in jail before being released on interim bail on October 30.
The Karnataka High Court granted him and Pavithra regular bail on December 13, which was subsequently challenged by the state government. On August 14, the Supreme Court revoked the HC-granted bail, keeping the case active.
