
New Delhi: Electronic Sector Skills Council of India has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with SRM Institute of Science & Technology (SRMIST), Kattankulathur for mapping Skills requirements of the industry demand and student requirements. The MoU was signed by Dr. Abhilasha Gaur, Chief Operating Officer, ESSCI and Dr. S. Ponnusamy, Registrar, SRM Institute of Science and Technology at SRM Campus, Kattankulathur on 10th Marc 2021. Senior officials of both organisations were also present on the occasion.
In the current job market, the real obstacle is not the availability of jobs, but the right resource at the right place filling the vacancy with all the required skill sets is a challenge. To overcome the same, ESSCI has developed the Qualification Packs for imparting skill-based training. The purpose of the MoU is to meet the requirement of, SRMIST, Kattankulathur expansion for Skill development of Engineering College Students on various Electronics Courses.

This MoU provides SRMIST with a skill-based training eco-system for improving learning outcomes, improving the efficiency, and effectiveness of the entire education system and degree. Both organisations will mutually explore possibility of spreading the skilling model in other academic institutions affiliated or related to SRMIST, Kattankulathur.
Dr Abhilasha Gaur expressed confidence that the SRMIST will help in promoting skill-based education in India through various activities and to develop world-class infra in collaboration with Industry Partners that offers a quality skill training ecosystem for students. Further she said that ESSCI and SRMIST would jointly work towards aggregating the industry skill demand and will develop courses for students that would be helpful for employment and self-employment.
“ESSCI will support placement services for students of SRMIST who would get qualified & certified on the Qualification Packs designed by ESSCI through its job portal services. We will align the training requirement of SRMIST requirement and shall also facilitate internships, apprenticeships to students enrolling for various skills-based courses,” she added.
