In Independence Day address, Modi announces sweeping reforms, GST relief, new defense systems, and massive job scheme.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in a combative Independence Day address from the ramparts of the Red Fort, issued a stark warning of what he called a “well-planned plot” to alter India’s demography — a challenge he vowed to confront with a newly announced high-powered “demographic mission.”
Speaking on the nation’s 79th Independence Day, Modi alleged that “intruders” were changing population patterns in a deliberate bid to destabilize the country, threatening unity, security, and livelihoods.

He accused these groups of “snatching jobs from India’s youth,” “targeting women,” and “misleading tribal communities to seize their lands,” declaring that the nation “will not tolerate” such actions.
“Demographic changes in border areas endanger national security and sow seeds of social tension,” Modi warned. “If no country in the world accepts such acts, how can we do so for India?”
Alongside the demographic mission, Modi rolled out a slate of economic and security measures:
Modi also referenced “Operation Sindoor” in combating terrorism and paid tribute to the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), calling the century-old organisation “an enduring source of inspiration.”
At 103 minutes, Modi’s address was a mix of sharp warnings, sweeping policy pledges, and emotive appeals to protect the sacrifices of India’s freedom fighters by guarding the nation against what he described as an emerging internal crisis.
