The center at Kuppam will provide AI-enabled, industry-aligned vocational training, practical skills, and placement-linked programs, empowering local youth, enhancing employability, and supporting inclusive growth in Andhra Pradesh.
Hindalco Industries Ltd, the metals flagship company of the Aditya Birla Group, has expanded its skilling footprint in Andhra Pradesh with the launch of a new Multi-Skills Training Centre at its Kuppam plant, aimed at strengthening youth employability and regional workforce development.
The facility was inaugurated by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu in the presence of senior Hindalco leaders, including Samik Basu, chief human resources officer, and Kopal Agarwal, head of downstream operations, along with other dignitaries.

Developed in collaboration with the Kuppam Area Development Authority, the center is designed to train and upskill more than 500 youth every year through placement-linked programs aligned with industry needs and national and global benchmarks.
The initiative is positioned as a scalable public private partnership supporting the Swarna Kuppam Vision 2029.
“At Hindalco, we see skilling as a powerful catalyst for social and economic transformation. This Centre brings together global innovation and local relevance leveraging immersive, AI-enabled learning in partnership with Eon Reality, USA to make world-class vocational training accessible to youth in their own language. By integrating advanced technology with industry-linked, placement-focused programmes, we are creating sustainable pathways to employment and preparing a future-ready workforce for the region,” Basu said.
Spread across 22,500 sq ft, the purpose-built center features smart classrooms, domain-specific practical labs, digital learning facilities, and career guidance infrastructure to deliver outcome-driven and industry-relevant training.
Over the next three years, the center is expected to train more than 875 youth and support up to 600 job placements. The initiative is also projected to indirectly benefit over 5,000 family members and reach nearly 20,000 community members through awareness and skilling programs.
A key feature of the center is its AI-enabled digital learning platform, which can be accessed even on basic smartphones and offers lifetime access for learners to continuously upgrade their skills and address real-world challenges.
Courses are offered in local languages including Telugu, Gujarati, and Odia to improve accessibility and inclusion. Hindalco plans to replicate this model at its skilling centers in Gujarat and Odisha.
The program is supported by partnerships with organizations such as Philips Learning, Max Healthcare, SkillSonics, the Indian Institute of Welding, Fronius, Seabery, and NASSCOM. Select courses in AI, data analytics, and cybersecurity will carry NASSCOM certification.
The Kuppam center forms part of Hindalco’s Youth Employability Enhancement Initiative, which has supported sustainable livelihoods for more than 12,000 youth across India, with centers in Sambalpur, Dahej, and Rayagada cited as established models of impact.
