The BJP had assured that the monthly financial assistance to women would be approved in the very first cabinet meeting but despite taking oath and holding their first meeting, the government has already begun breaking its promises, the AAP leader says.

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and former chief minister Delhi Atishi has accused the newly formed BJP-led Delhi government of failing to fulfill its pre-poll promise of providing ₹2,500 monthly financial assistance to women. Her remarks came after Chief Minister Rekha Gupta's cabinet convened its first meeting on Feb 20 but did not include the financial aid scheme in its agenda.
"The BJP had assured the women of Delhi that this scheme would be approved in the very first cabinet meeting. However, despite taking oath and holding their first meeting at 7 PM, the government has already begun breaking its promises," Atishi said in a video message posted on X.

She alleged that the BJP had "made up its mind to cheat the people" by failing to implement the scheme as promised during the election campaign.
Delhi govt approves Ayushman Bharat, plans to table CAG reports
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, addressing a press conference after the cabinet meeting, announced that Delhi would implement the Centre’s flagship Ayushman Bharat health insurance scheme. The initiative, a key BJP poll pledge, will provide ₹10 lakh in health coverage per beneficiary, with equal contributions from the Centre and the Delhi government.
Gupta also revealed that her administration would table 14 Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) reports on the performance of the previous AAP government during the first session of the newly formed eighth Delhi Assembly. These reports, she claimed, had been "blocked" by the AAP when it was in power.
Responding to Atishi’s allegations, Gupta dismissed the criticism, stating, “This is our government; the agenda will be ours. Let us work. She has done what she had to while in power.”
