The FIR includes the woman's assertion that upon confronting Yediyurappa, he excused his actions as an attempt to verify the assault claims

Former Karnataka CM B S Yediyurappa
B S Yediyurappa, the former Chief Minister of Karnataka and a prominent figure in the BJP, has been charged under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. The charges stem from an incident alleged to have occurred at his Bengaluru residence.
The case was initiated after a complaint was filed by a woman who claimed that during a visit to Yediyurappa's home on February 2, seeking intervention in her daughter's rape case, her minor daughter was subjected to inappropriate behavior by Yediyurappa. The complaint details that Yediyurappa is accused of isolating the minor in a room and committing acts of sexual harassment.

The FIR includes the woman's assertion that upon confronting Yediyurappa, he excused his actions as an attempt to verify the assault claims. He is reported to have expressed regret and requested discretion regarding the incident.
The police department in Sadashivanagar, Bengaluru, has formally registered the case, invoking Section 8 of the POCSO Act, which pertains to sexual assault, and Section 354(a) of the IPC, which addresses sexual harassment.
