In addition to the BJP, former assembly Speaker Dr C P Joshi, incumbent MLA Harish Meena, and Vaibhav Gehlot, son of former Congress Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, from Jalore seat are also participating in the electoral contest.

The high-profile election campaign, characterized by public meetings and road shows, came to a standstill at 5 pm on Wednesday for the second phase of elections in 13 Lok Sabha constituencies in Rajasthan, scheduled to vote on April 26.
The 13 Lok Sabha seats include: Ajmer, Tonk-Sawaimadhopur, Pali, Jodhpur, Barmer, Jalore, Banswara, Udaipur, Chittorgarh, Rajsamand, Bhilwara, Kota, and Jhalawar-Baran.

Among the 152 candidates, including seven women, vying for these seats are eight prominent figures from the BJP. These include Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Union Ministers Gajendra Singh Shekhawat and Kailash Choudhary, four incumbent MPs PP Choudhary, Bhagirath Choudhary, Dushyant Singh, SS Jaunapuria, and State BJP President C P Joshi.
In addition to the BJP, the electoral contest also includes Congress’ former assembly Speaker Dr C P Joshi, incumbent MLA Harish Meena, and Vaibhav Gehlot, son of former Congress Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, from the Jalore seat.
Out of the 152 candidates, both the BJP and Congress have fielded 13 candidates each across all seats, the BSP has fielded 12, and the remaining 73 are Independents and 41 belong to other smaller parties. Voting will take place on Friday from 7 am to 6 pm.
