Key Highlights from BJP's Manifesto: From CAA, Unified Elections, to 2036 Olympics Bid

With a vision for a "Developed India", Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled the BJP's manifesto for the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections. "The entire nation anticipates the BJP's 'Sankalp Patra'. There's a significant reason for this anticipation as the BJP has fulfilled every pledge from its manifesto over the past decade. This 'Sankalp Patra' empowers the four pillars of a developed India — Youth, Women, the Underprivileged, and Farmers," stated the Prime Minister during its release.

The manifesto highlighted India's bid for the 2036 Olympics, the execution of the NEP, and a law against paper leaks, among other commitments.

Here are some of the primary pledges made by the party:

📌 The BJP has pledged to accelerate infrastructural development along the borders with China, Myanmar, and Pakistan. "We will implement technological solutions on fenced areas to enhance the effectiveness of the fencing," the manifesto declared.

📌 The BJP assured that India will become the third-largest economic power. "In a decade, we have elevated India from the 11th to the 5th largest economic power. This was achievable due to appropriate policies, concentrated execution, and careful planning," it stated.

📌 The manifesto also pledged the execution of the Citizenship Amendment Act.

📌 The BJP pledged to implement the Uniform Civil Code. "The introduction of the Uniform Civil Code: Article 44 of the Constitution includes the Uniform Civil Code as one of the Directive Principles of State Policy. The BJP believes that women will only achieve equal rights, and the BJP reaffirms its position to formulate a Uniform Civil Code, incorporating the best traditions and aligning them with contemporary times," it stated.

📌 The manifesto also committed to the implementation of the One Nation, One Election. "We have established a committee to investigate the issues of conducting simultaneous elections and will work towards the implementation of the recommendations," PM Modi stated.

📌 The BJP committed to fortifying institutions like IITs, IIMs, and AIIMS. "We will persist in upgrading the existing institutions through targeted funding, capacity building, infrastructure enhancement, and dedicated research grants," the manifesto stated.

📌 The BJP pledged to also provide free ration to 80 crore citizens for the next five years under the PM Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana.

📌 Free electricity to underprivileged households under PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana was another key promise in the manifesto.

📌 The BJP also pledged to ensure the creation of infrastructure like women’s hostels and creches near industrial and commercial centres to promote the participation of women in the workforce. It further added that it will expand health services to ensure a healthy life for women. These services will be focused on preventing and reducing cases of Anaemia, Breast Cancer, Cervical Cancer, and Osteoporosis.

📌 The BJP pledged to systematically implement the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam to ensure representation for women in the Parliament and State Legislatures.

📌 The Ayushman Bharat scheme will cover all senior citizens and provide them access to free and quality healthcare.

📌 The manifesto also pledged to increase the Minimum Support Price (MSP) on crops periodically. "We are providing annual financial assistance of Rs 6,000 under PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana. We are committed to sustained financial support for our farmers," it stated.

📌 The BJP committed to include auto, taxi, truck, and other drivers in all social security schemes.
