Modi has been accused of making indirect derogatory remarks about Muslims, using terms like ‘infiltrators’ and ‘those with more children’, while Rahul has been charged with making an untrue statement about ‘rise in poverty’.

The Election Commission of India (ECI) declared on Thursday that it had acknowledged breaches of the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) by both Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. Modi has been accused of making veiled derogatory remarks about Muslims, using phrases like ‘infiltrators’ and ‘those with more children’, while Rahul has been charged with making a false assertion about ‘rise in poverty’.
Both the BJP and INC have been accused of inciting hatred and divisions based on caste, religion, language, and community, as reported by ANI. Although the EC initially declined to comment on Modi’s speeches, sources informed PTI that the commission was ‘examining’ the remarks made by the BJP leader. The ECI has requested a response from both parties by 11 am on April 29.
