CSK's Batting Coach Hussey Foresees Dhoni's Batting Debut in IPL 2024 vs DC, Anticipates a 'Last-Ball' Six from MSD

Michael Hussey, the esteemed batting coach of Chennai Super Kings (CSK), has made a daring prediction for Mahendra Singh Dhoni ahead of the significant IPL 2024 face-off against Delhi Capitals. Dhoni, who relinquished his captaincy this season, is yet to bat as his team has triumphed in the first two matches of the season.

The legendary cricketer has showcased his exceptional wicketkeeping skills behind the stumps at the age of 42, but he is still awaiting his turn to bat.

Hussey, the batting coach of CSK, has forecasted that Dhoni will conclude the match against Delhi Capitals in style with a match-winning six.

"My prediction for the last over of the match is that MS Dhoni will be batting. The crowd will be roaring and MSD will hit a six to finish the match," Michael Hussey stated in a video released by IPL's official social media page.

CSK defeated GT by 63 runs on Tuesday and has secured victories in both matches so far. Their next match is against Delhi Capitals in Visakhapatnam on Sunday.

They have commenced their title defence robustly with consecutive wins, despite the change in captaincy. The era of Ruturaj Gaikwad at Chennai has started perfectly, as Dhoni's presence behind the stumps is easing his transition into this significant role.

On the other hand, Delhi Capitals will be eager to score their first points on the table when they compete against the five-time IPL champions.

Hussey also emphasized that Delhi will be aiming to secure the two points, but CSK will rely on their skills and start afresh on Saturday.

"They're going to be desperate. They're going to be looking to play a great match. We all start on zero and try and put another good performance against Delhi. Yeah, but I think if we can just focus really well on our game and try and execute our skills as best we can, then hopefully it gives us a good chance to get the result we're after," Hussey said.
