Franchise launches “RCB Cares” initiative after tragedy during IPL 2025 victory celebrations.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) has announced financial aid of ₹25 lakh each for the families of 11 fans who lost their lives in the stampede outside Bengaluru’s M Chinnaswamy Stadium during the team’s maiden Indian Premier League (IPL) title victory celebrations on June 4, 2025.
The announcement, made on August 30 through RCB’s official social media handles, marks the franchise’s first public message since the tragedy. The financial support will be provided under a newly launched initiative, RCB Cares.

Nearly 2.5 lakh fans had gathered outside the stadium to catch a glimpse of RCB players after their historic title win, leading to a deadly crush that killed 11 people and injured many more. Initially, the franchise had announced ₹10 lakh aid per bereaved family.
“Our hearts broke on June 4. We lost eleven members of the RCB family. Their absence will echo in our memories forever,” the franchise said in an emotional post. “No amount of support can ever fill the space they’ve left behind. But as a first step, and with the deepest respect, RCB has extended ₹25 lakh each to their families — not just as financial aid, but as a promise of compassion, unity and ongoing care.”
RCB also pledged long-term efforts to honour the memory of those who died, calling the aid “the beginning of meaningful action” towards supporting its fan community.
The tragedy cast a shadow over RCB’s historic IPL 2025 triumph, where the team ended its 18-year wait for the title by defeating Punjab Kings in a nail-biting final at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium.
