Associates of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi claim responsibility; Canadian authorities probe motives tied to unpaid dues and religious grievances.

In yet another shocking attack, comedian Kapil Sharma’s popular eatery, Cap’s Café, in Surrey, Canada, came under fire for the third time in just four months. The brazen assault, which took place on the same day as another shooting incident, has once again drawn attention to the growing nexus of gang violence and extortion targeting Indian-owned businesses abroad.
Soon after the attack, associates of notorious gangster Lawrence Bishnoi identified as Kulveer Sidhu and Goldy Dhillon claimed responsibility in a social media post. The post cited alleged disputes over unpaid dues and perceived insults to their religious sentiments as reasons behind the repeated assaults.

Canadian authorities have launched a comprehensive investigation into the claims, examining the motives mentioned in the online statement. Surrey police are reviewing CCTV footage from around the café and questioning eyewitnesses to piece together the sequence of events leading to the latest firing.
The repeated targeting of Cap’s Café has sparked growing concern among members of the Indian community in Canada, many of whom are urging stronger protection measures against gang-linked violence and extortion threats.
