The prestigious institution has been ranked 45th in Engineering and Technology, with an impressive overall score of 79.1 out of 100.
The rankings, released by the British company QS, cover five broad subject areas, including Engineering & Technology, Natural Sciences, Social Sciences and Management, and Arts and Humanities. IIT Bombay has made notable strides in multiple disciplines, further solidifying its reputation for academic excellence.

In specific fields, the institution has secured noteworthy positions, such as 64th for Computer Science & Information Technology, 30th in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, and 42nd for Civil & Structural Engineering. Additionally, IIT Bombay has achieved commendable rankings in Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Mechanical, Aeronautical & Manufacturing Engineering, and Minerals & Mining.
Parameter-wise analysis reveals IIT Bombay's exceptional performance across various metrics. The institution excels in Academic Reputation, particularly in Mathematics, where it scores an impressive 79.6. Furthermore, in terms of Employer Reputation, IIT Bombay shines in Engineering – Mineral & Mining, garnering a notable score of 96.2.
The QS World University Rankings by Subject serve as a benchmark for identifying the world's leading universities across 55 disciplines. As IIT Bombay continues to enhance its global standing, these rankings underscore its commitment to academic excellence and research innovation on the international stage.
