Speaking at the event, Pradhan underlined the strategic importance of artificial intelligence for India’s growth.

“We aim to make India a global leader in ethical AI,” he said. “Business schools must lead in integrating AI into management, innovation, and real-world problem-solving. These programs will prepare students for an AI-driven future while ensuring that technology remains aligned with human values.”

He said India’s demographic strength provides a strong foundation for developing indigenous AI solutions.

“Aspirational India must leverage AI not only for economic growth but also for inclusive and socially meaningful progress,” he noted.

He added that responsible AI adoption can improve outcomes in education, healthcare, and public services, and urged institutions to create solutions aligned with national priorities while contributing to global innovation.

IIM Lucknow Director Prof M P Gupta said the new programs integrate business strategy with technological depth.

He described the “thoughtfully designed modular curriculum” as enabling students to convert technological advances into commercially viable models.

He said the initiative supports the long-term vision of Viksit Bharat@2047 and is aligned with industry and societal needs.

The institute will roll out three programs in phases. A four-year BS in Artificial Intelligence and Business Analytics will begin in 2026–27 with admissions through JEE Advanced.

A two-year tech MBA is scheduled for 2027 to 28. An integrated five-year BS plus Tech MBA will allow eligible students to complete both degrees within a single track.

The institute said the programs are designed to promote individual excellence, national impact, and global leadership while supporting initiatives such as Digital India and the IndiaAI Mission.
