SUV carrying six flips near Jharsa Chowk at dawn; sole survivor battles for life.

In a devastating crash that unfolded in the early hours of September 27, five people were killed after a Mahindra Thar carrying six young occupants rammed into a divider and overturned multiple times on the Delhi-Jaipur expressway.
The accident occurred around 4:30 am near Jharsa Chowk on National Highway-48, police said. Only one passenger survived the impact but remains in critical condition at a private hospital.

The SUV — a black Thar bearing a Uttar Pradesh registration plate — had three men and three women on board. Police officials confirmed the vehicle has been seized and taken to Sector 40 police station for verification of ownership.
“We are in the process of identifying the victims through the mobile phones recovered from the vehicle,” said Inspector Lalit, Station House Officer, Sector 40. “All the occupants were young. Establishing their identities and contacting families is our priority.”
The latest crash adds to a troubling spate of accidents involving Thar SUVs in the NCR region. Just last week, a 43-year-old man was killed in Faridabad after being run over during an altercation involving another Thar, registered to the son of a senior police officer. In August, two men sleeping on a pavement in Delhi’s Chanakyapuri were fatally struck by a Thar, which also led to the recovery of banned drugs from the vehicle.
With five young lives abruptly cut short, the recent accident once again raises questions over speeding, reckless driving, and the rising involvement of high-powered SUVs in fatal road tragedies.
