Authorities report that Saurabh Kumar was returning from a wedding reception when the attack occurred.

Saurabh Kumar, a leader of the Janata Dal (United), was assassinated by unidentified attackers on motorcycles in Patna on the night of Wednesday, April 24, 2024, according to police reports. The police stated that the attack took place as Saurabh Kumar was returning from a wedding reception. Another individual who was with the JD(U) leader at the time also sustained injuries in the incident.
“Saurabh Kumar attended a reception function with his friends. On their way back, he was shot by unidentified assailants on a motorcycle. He was then rushed to the hospital along with another person named Munmun Kumar who also got injured. They were taken to Kankarbagh Uma hospital, but unfortunately, Saurabh Kumar succumbed to his injuries. We are investigating the matter,” said SDPO Masaurhi, Kanhaiya Singh.

The search for the unidentified attackers is currently ongoing.
More details are expected to be released as the investigation progresses.
