Four people were arrested in the firing case outside Salman Khan's house
Mumbai/New Delhi: Sources have reported that one of the two arms suppliers implicated in the shooting incident outside actor Salman Khan's residence died by suicide today while in police custody. Anuj Thapan, 32, who was apprehended from Punjab on April 26, reportedly took his own life in a toilet attached to the police lock-up at 11 am.
Thapan was housed in the lock-up with ten other inmates, under the watch of four to five police officers. He and another suspect, Sonu Subhash Chander, are alleged to have supplied the weapons used in the shooting outside the Mumbai home of the 'Tiger Zinda Hai' actor on April 14.

The motivations behind Thapan's suicide are currently under investigation. Former Maharashtra senior police officer PK Jain informed NDTV that any death in a lock-up is treated as a murder case. "All the policemen in the police station will be questioned by the CID (Criminal Investigation Department)," Mr Jain stated.
The former senior officer added that police typically ensure lock-ups are inspected for any objects that could potentially be used by an individual to commit suicide.
