Paswan's meteoric rise was marked by his party's success in the recent Lok Sabha elections, winning all five seats allocated to it in the NDA alliance. This feat has catapulted him as the new Dalit icon in Bihar politics, overshadowing many seasoned politicians.

Chirag Paswan, a two-time Member of Parliament from Bihar and leader of the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) (LJP), has taken up the mantle as the Minister of Food Processing Industries.
At the age of 42, Paswan has firmly established himself as the rightful successor to his late father, Ram Vilas Paswan's political legacy.

He has pledged to tap into the immense potential of the food processing sector.
Paswan has expressed his intent to formulate a comprehensive 100-day plan after consulting with ministry officials.
This plan aims to underscore the significance of the sector in providing direct benefits to farmers.
"There is huge potential in the food processing sector, and the 100-day plan will be ready after discussion with ministry officials," Paswan said, underscoring the sector's importance in directly benefiting farmers.
He has stressed the importance of expanding processing units throughout the country, with a particular focus on regions heavily reliant on farming.
Despite acknowledging India's current underperformance in food processing, Paswan is determined to spearhead efforts to propel the sector to greater heights.
"The impact of the ministry is largely dependent on its leader. I have been entrusted with a significant responsibility that affects millions of farmers. I have always advocated for processing units in Hajipur, which will result in higher income for farmers," he stated.
Paswan officially assumed his new role following a modest religious ceremony at the office, attended by his mother and other family members.
His inclusion in the Narendra Modi government marks a significant resurgence in Bihar's dynamic political scene.
