Union Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas Hardeep Singh Puri hosted a ‘Vishesh Sampark Abhiyan’ highlighting India’s incredible progress in information technology and digital innovation under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his residence, bringing together some of the nation’s prominent IT professionals, innovators, startup leaders, and intellectuals, including Union Minister of State of Electronics and Information Technology of India, Rajeev Chandrasekhar.
Puri highlighted the decade's (2014–2024) transformative impact, particularly noting how young professionals, who had no prior business experience, are now leading multimillion-dollar enterprises and driving employment across the nation.

He considered how the business environment in India had changed dramatically in the last 10 years. He stated, “10 years ago, during the previous government’s regime, the only requirement to become successful was connection, but the kind of success stories we have today.”
“India ranks third in the number of unicorns, second in the total number of startups, and first in new startups. This is the new company. We will be 'Viksit Bharat' much before 2047," Puri added.
IT Minister Chandrasekhar described the period as the most exciting and innovative for those involved in the tech sector. He highlighted the significant advancements made in governance, economy, national security, and infrastructure over the past 10 years and said, “The last 10 years have seen an increased presence in the digital economy like never before.”
Chandrasekhar emphasized how India's innovation is leaving its imprint in fields including artificial intelligence (AI), semiconductors, electronics, microelectronics, high-performance computing, the Internet of the future, and next-generation telecom. India has a growing presence in the global digital economy, he said.
