The ISIS has taken responsibility for a knife attack in Solingen, Germany on Aug 23 that killed three people and wounded eight others.
According to the terrorist group’s Amaq news site, the 26-year-old Syrian man who randomly started attacking people at the local festival was a “soldier of the Islamic State”. It further said that the attack was carried out as a revenge for “Muslims in Palestine and everywhere.”

On Aug 23 night, the sole perpetrator attacked people, who had gathered at the Fronhof, a central square in the city, about 25 kilometers (15 miles) east of Dusseldorf, to celebrate the town's 650-year history.
The victims include two men, aged 56 and 67, and a 56-year-old woman, who were stabbed to death.
The suspect turned himself in and admitted to the crime, Duesseldorf police and prosecutors said in a joint statement, adding that “the involvement of the perosn in being thoroughly investigated.”
The suspect, who is affiliated with a home for refugees in Solingen was searched on Aug 24, authorities said.
However, it has not been established yet how close the attacker and Islamic State was.
The planned three-day celebrations of the city anniversary has been canceled after the attack.
