The Kremlin has confirmed an upcoming Putin–Trump meeting, while India’s NSA Ajit Doval says Putin’s visit to New Delhi is nearly finalized.

Russian President Vladimir Putin is expected to meet US President Donald Trump in the coming days, the Kremlin has confirmed. According to Kremlin spokesperson Yuri Ushakov, a venue has been set and announcements will follow soon.
This will mark the first face‑to‑face meeting between the two since Trump’s return to office earlier this year.

This diplomatic development follows a recent meeting between Putin and US envoy Steve Witkoff in Moscow, described as “productive” by both sides.
Notably, the Kremlin clarified that, contrary to a White House statement, the initiative for the in‑person summit came from the American side.
Meanwhile, in Moscow, India’s National Security Adviser Ajit Doval confirmed that President Putin is expected to visit India before the end of 2025.
Doval said the dates are “almost finalized,” following prior reports suggesting a possible trip by late August; however, this has now been corrected to later in the year.
These developments come amid heightened global tensions—especially over the Russia–Ukraine war. Analysts warn that the Trump–Putin summit may sideline Ukraine, which has repeatedly offered to participate in negotiations. Russia, however, remains unwavering in its demands.
Putin’s anticipated visit to India offers a contrasting diplomatic narrative. India and Russia share deep-rooted ties in energy, defence, and strategic cooperation.
Doval’s statement highlights a continued and strengthening relationship that may balance growing global volatility.
