The UGC NET December 2025 exam was conducted in computer-based mode across 85 subjects between Dec 31, 2025, and Jan 7, 2026.

The test was held over six days in 11 shifts at 663 examination centers spread across 283 cities nationwide. According to official figures, 993,702 candidates registered for the exam, of whom 735,614 appeared.

Data released by the agency shows that 5,108 candidates qualified for both Junior Research Fellowship and Assistant Professor eligibility.

Another 54,713 candidates qualified for Assistant Professor eligibility along with admission to PhD programs, while 17,058 candidates qualified for PhD admission only.

Women made up the majority of applicants, with 585,400 registrations, accounting for 58.91% of the total. Male candidates numbered 408,245, or 41.08%, while 57 candidates registered under the third gender category.

To maintain transparency in the evaluation process, the NTA had earlier published question papers, provisional answer keys, and recorded responses on its website from Jan 14 to Jan 17, 2026, and invited challenges from candidates.

The objections were reviewed by subject experts, and the final results were prepared based on revised answer keys.

Candidates can check their results by visiting ugcnet.nta.nic.in, clicking on the UGC NET December 2025 result link, entering their application number and date of birth, and downloading the scorecard.

Those who have qualified for the Junior Research Fellowship and Assistant Professor eligibility will receive their eligibility certificates and JRF award letters through the NTA portal.
